CALAMBA CITY, Laguna — The Philippine National Police (PNP) is strengthening its emergency and crime response capability in CALABARZON following the distribution of 130 Unified 911 Emergency Response Motorcycle units to police stations and local government units across the region.

DILG Secretary Juanito Victor “Jonvic” Remulla led the ceremonial turnover on Wednesday, October 7, at Camp Vicente Lim in Calamba City, Laguna, alongside PNP Chief General Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. and Police Regional Office IV-A Director Brigadier General Dominic Baccay.

Also present were DILG IV-A Regional Director Engr. Ariel Iglesia and BFP IV-A Acting Regional Director Senior Superintendent Bernard Rosete, along with local officials who received the new mobility assets.
Faster police response
The motorcycles will serve as additional mobility assets for police units, allowing responders to reach incidents more quickly, particularly in areas where motorcycles can maneuver more efficiently than conventional patrol vehicles.
The additional units are expected to improve police mobility, visibility and responsiveness across CALABARZON communities.
The motorcycles will also support the implementation of the Unified 911 emergency response system, which requires responders to reach incident locations as quickly as possible during crimes, accidents and other emergencies.
Unified 911 currently records an average response time of around six minutes in CALABARZON, with the additional motorcycle response units expected to further improve response capability.
More mobility, stronger operational capability
Remulla emphasized the importance of providing sufficient mobility assets to ensure that police and other emergency responders can immediately reach communities in need of assistance.
The initiative forms part of the government’s efforts to strengthen public safety response and make law enforcement services faster, more coordinated and more efficient.
For the PNP, the additional motorcycles represent more than new equipment. They provide greater operational capability by increasing the number of units that can be deployed, expanding police visibility and improving mobility during emergencies.
Laguna Governor Sol Aragones, meanwhile, expressed appreciation to the DILG and PNP for the additional mobility assets.

She said the units would help strengthen the security of local communities while also contributing to the safety of tourists visiting the province.
With the continued expansion of its mobility assets, the PNP aims to bring police and emergency response services closer to the public through faster response, wider police presence and stronger operational readiness across CALABARZON.
