Calamba, Laguna — February 11, 2026 — Saint John the Baptist Medical Center (SJBMC) is expanding its facilities to meet the rising healthcare needs of Calamba’s growing population. The hospital recently broke ground on its new 7-storey Main Hospital, a move aimed at improving patient care and access to medical services.
According to Dr. Jose Enrico Juliano, MD, SJBMC President, the expansion is a necessary response to the city’s increasing demand for quality healthcare.

“Population growth means we must expand physically to meet the need,” he said during the ceremony.
The new facility will include several key features:
68–70 inpatient beds across four dedicated floors
State-of-the-art Emergency Room and ICUs
A centralized medical hub for easy patient access
Future plans for geriatric care with on-site housing for seniors
During the ceremony, SJBMC also blessed its new retail area, which includes The New Galley by TowerCafe, a restaurant for patients and the community, and AllEN One, a grocery, pharmacy, and payment center, providing added convenience for everyone at the hospital.

“Building growth is the legacy we leave for future generations,” Dr. Juliano added.
