The Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX) is nearing completion as construction continues on its remaining 18.5 kilometers, which will extend the expressway to Kawit, Cavite, and connect it to the Cavite Expressway (CAVITEX).

MPCALA Holdings, Inc., the project’s private concessionaire, said construction is ongoing on Subsections 1 and 2, with work covering road pavements, bridge superstructures, drainage systems, interchange ramps, and other infrastructure.
CALAX currently operates from Mamplasan in Biñan, Laguna, to Governor’s Drive in General Trias, Cavite. Once the remaining sections are completed, the expressway will extend through Open Canal to Kawit and connect to CAVITEX via the CAVITEX-CALAX Link (CCLink).

The 45-kilometer, four-lane expressway is designed to provide an additional route between Cavite and Laguna, improving access to residential, commercial, and industrial areas across the two provinces.
The planned connection to CAVITEX will also provide motorists with a more direct expressway route toward Metro Manila, offering an alternative to major local roads.
The completed corridor is expected to improve the movement of people and goods across key economic centers in Cavite, Laguna, and Metro Manila. The improved connectivity may also benefit logistics and delivery operators transporting raw materials, finished products, and other supplies between industrial facilities, warehouses, distribution hubs, and commercial markets.
For businesses, the expanded expressway network is expected to strengthen access to employment centers and commercial and industrial zones, supporting regional mobility and economic activity.
CALAX is a public-private partnership project, with the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) serving as the government grantor and MPCALA Holdings, Inc., a subsidiary of Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation, serving as the private concessionaire.
