A total of 681 barangays across Laguna are set to benefit from direct government assistance after formally receiving ₱200,000 each under the Bawat Barangay Makikinabang program during a distribution ceremony held at the Laguna Sports Complex on Friday, September 11.
Executive Secretary Ralph Recto led the distribution of more than ₱130 million in Socio-Civic Projects Fund (SCPF) assistance for barangays across the province under the Marcos administration.

The allocation provides ₱100,000 for community-based projects in each barangay, while another ₱100,000 is earmarked for financial assistance to 3,405 Presidential Scholars in Laguna.
The program is intended to bring government assistance closer to communities by allowing barangays to support projects and initiatives based on local needs.
Recto said the national government plans to continue similar assistance to local communities next year, including the release of the Local Government Support Fund (LGSF) and SCPF.
He cited the positive response from local government officials and beneficiaries as one of the reasons for sustaining the programs.
The Executive Secretary was welcomed in Laguna by Governor Sol Aragones, Vice Governor JM Carait, representatives of the province’s congressional districts, members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, mayors from Laguna’s municipalities and cities, as well as barangay chairpersons and council members.
Aragones, meanwhile, expressed her appreciation to President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. for the initiative, noting that the assistance would help strengthen programs being implemented at the community level, particularly in the province’s priority areas such as healthcare.
Rice Assistance for Persons with Disabilities
Aside from the barangay funding, persons with disabilities who were among the beneficiaries also received 10 kilograms of rice each through the Local Government Support Fund of the provincial government.

The distribution formed part of the province’s continuing efforts to extend assistance to vulnerable sectors while strengthening support for local communities.
With the latest fund release, barangays in Laguna are expected to have additional resources for community projects and initiatives aimed at addressing the needs of residents at the grassroots level.
